A summer of artistic collaboration

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with two unique establishments, each with its own charm and vision. From creating ceramic pieces for the picturesque Café l'Été in the Magdalen Islands to designing an exclusive tableware collection for the C'est Belge restaurant in Granby, it was a whirlwind of creativity and culinary delights!

Café l'Été: A taste of coastal elegance

Nestled on the shores of the Magdalen Islands, Café l'Été is a picturesque coastal café that exudes an air of relaxed elegance. With its panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, it is no wonder that Café l'Été is a popular destination for both locals and visitors.

This summer, I had the privilege of collaborating with Café l'Été to create custom pottery pieces that perfectly capture the essence of this idyllic coastal haven. Inspired by the sea, the sky, and the rugged beauty of the islands, I created a collection of mugs and tumblers that incorporate the café's colors and logo.

Soft blues and gentle swirls of ocean waves are reflected in the glazes, while the rustic textures of the cliffs and beaches can be found on the surface of the pottery. It was a true joy to collaborate with Café l'Été and to be part of their commitment to providing not only excellent coffee, but also an unforgettable experience for their customers. The custom pottery added a touch of artisanal elegance to their space, making every visit a memorable moment.

C'est Belge: Eco-consciousness through brunch

Meanwhile, in Granby, the C'est Belge restaurant embarked on a mission to evaluate its environmental impact. The restaurant, known for its delicious brunches, sought to rethink its suppliers, from fresh local food to its tableware. Their goal, when they reached out to me, was to promote the local economy and reduce their reliance on suppliers outside the region.

I was delighted to work with the C'est Belge team to design a unique tableware collection that would complement their culinary creations. Together, we envisioned plates that were not just functional, but also a canvas for artistic expression. The result is a collection of modern, handmade plates in earthy tones with a minimalist aesthetic.

These custom plates added a touch of rustic elegance to the restaurant's brunch service. By enjoying their brunch on these unique plates, customers are doing more than just savoring a meal; they are indulging in a sensory journey that celebrates the local economy.

An unforgettable summer

This summer of collaboration was a journey of creativity and connection. Working with Café l'Été and C'est Belge reminded me of the power of art and craftsmanship to enhance our daily experiences, whether by the sea or in the heart of a bustling city.

I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to put my passion for pottery at the service of gastronomy, and I look forward to more exciting collaborations in the future. As the seasons change, I am eager to see how my pottery will continue to find its place in the world of cuisine, one beautiful plate at a time.

Stay tuned for more pottery adventures and collaborations, and if you find yourself in the Magdalen Islands or Granby, be sure to visit Café l'Été and C'est Belge to discover the magic of clay and cuisine!

Best,

Lou
